Friday, May 9, 2025, 10:15 A.M. ET. 1 Minute By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

HARRISBURG, PA.- On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Leon Weathersbe, 38, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Keli M. Neary to 137 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release on his previously entered guilty plea to federal drug and firearms violations.

Weathersbe previously appeared in Federal Court in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and pleaded guilty before Judge Neary to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl; one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine; and one count of Possession of a Weapon in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus and charging documents filed with the District Court, on April 12, 2022, Pennsylvania State Police Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Weathersbe’s vehicle. During the stop, State Troopers found $1,600 in U.S. currency on his person. Weathersbe then provided consent to search his vehicle.

Weathersbe Fled The Traffic Stop On Foot

As State Troopers began to search the vehicle, Weathersbe fled the traffic stop on foot, avoiding apprehension at that time. State Troopers continued the search of the vehicle and uncovered distribution quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana, as well as a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat of the vehicle.

Weathersbe was later apprehended and formally charged with the offenses to which he pleaded guilty.
