PHILADELPHIA, PA.- An 18-year-old Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, man is facing up to 20 years in federal prison after being taken into custody and charged by indictment with child pornography offense.
On Thursday, May 8, 2025, a Federal Grand Jury for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment charging Isaiah Smith, 18, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with one count of Possession of Child Pornography.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to U.S. Attorney David Metcalf and charging information unsealed in the indictment, it is alleged that Smith possessed digital images and video files of prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
The digital images and video files included videos that Smith recorded as he sexually abused two different young children, a six-year-old girl and a nonverbal three-year-old boy, on multiple occasions for over a year. The child pornography was discovered after a friend of Smith’s walked in on him while orally raping one of the children.
If convicted at trial, Smith faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. At sentencing, upon a finding of guilt, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Smith’s prior criminal history.
