Police Searching For Suspects In Friday Afternoon Southeast Armed Carjacking

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating multiple suspects wanted in connection with Friday’s midday brazen armed carjacking in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, May 9, 2025, just minutes after 12:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a carjacking on the 1200 Block of 4th Street in Southeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, the victim informed police officers that while they were exiting their car on 4th Street, they were approached by a group of suspects when one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and demanded their keys. The victim complied with the suspects’ demands, and the suspects fled in the victim’s car, a Gray Mazda CX-5 with Maryland license plate 1EH771.
During the initial investigation, Responding Police Officers recovered video surveillance footage from a nearby camera that captured the suspects, which can be seen in the above picture.
