DETROIT, MI.- A 35-year-old previously convicted child predator will be spending the next four decades in federal prison after being sentenced on Friday for creating digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children.
On Friday, May 16, 2025, Stephen Lewis Gentry, 35, of Clinton Township, Michigan, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Terrence G. Berg to 480 months in federal prison, to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea.
Gentry previously appeared on February 12, 2025, in Federal Court in Detroit, Michigan, and pleaded guilty before Judge Berg to Sexual Exploitation of Children. In handing down the sentence on Friday, Judge Berg noted Gentry’s prior criminal history, including having three prior convictions relating to the sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children, and at the time of this offense, Gentry was already a registered sex offender.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr., and charging documents filed with the District Court, Gentry’s recent crimes came to light after the Federal Bureau of Investigation learned that he was distributing digital images and video files of child pornography that he created over a clandestine online network.
During the execution of a court-authorized search warrant at Gentry’s Clinton Township home, Investigators uncovered evidence that Gentry had produced child pornography depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of numerous child victims.
