Man Struck By Gunfire Sunday Afternoon In The City Of Paterson

PATERSON, NJ.- Detectives are continuing the investigation into the shooting of a 33-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, man who arrived Monday at Hackensack University Medical Center seeking treatment after being struck by gunfire Sunday afternoon in Paterson, New Jersey.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, shortly around 4:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Spring Street and Hospital Plaza in the City of Paterson.
Responding Police Officers Find Shooting Crime Scene
Upon arrival, Police Officers located evidence of a shooting crime scene at the location but were unable to locate a victim.
On Monday, May 19, 2025, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to Hackensack University Medical Center after receiving a report that a 33-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, man had arrived at the medical center requesting treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
During the initial investigation and following interviewing the man, Detectives determined that the man had been shot on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the area of Spring Street and Hospital Plaza in the City.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue to search for the gunman.
