Police Charge Man In Tuesday Night Strongarm Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, a 32-year-old Northwest, D.C., man was taken into custody and charged in connection with a strongarm robbery that occurred earlier in the evening on Tuesday in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, shortly before 8:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a robbery at the intersection of 14th Street and Perry Place in Northwest, D.C.
Police Were Informed By The Victim They Were Beaten And Robbed
Upon arrival, Police Officers were informed by the victim while at the intersection of 14th Street and Perry Place, they were approached by a man who assaulted them and robbed them of their money before fleeing the scene.
A short time later, based on a description provided by the victim and the Detectives’ investigation, Police located the suspect, identified as Jorge Beltran, 32, of Northwest, D.C., and took him into custody. Beltran was formally charged with Robbery by Assault. Beltran was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility, pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.
