Naugatuck Borough Man Sentenced For Distributing Drugs In Waterbury

HARTFORD, CT.- A 30-year-old Naugatuck, Connecticut, man, and former Naugatuck High School basketball star will be spending the next decade in federal prison after being sentenced on Tuesday for distributing large amounts of deadly narcotics throughout the streets of Waterbury, Connecticut.
On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Husani Foote, 30, formerly of Naugatuck, Connecticut, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Omar A. Williams to 120 months in federal prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea to a federal drug trafficking offense.
Foote previously appeared in Federal Court in Hartford, Connecticut, on May 13, 2024, and pleaded guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute 40 Grams or More of Fentanyl. Foote has remained in federal custody since his arrest on June 12, 2023.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan and charging documents filed with the District Court, during an ongoing narcotics investigation into the distribution of illicit narcotics, Foote was identified as a major drug trafficker in and around Waterbury, Connecticut.
Search Warrants Uncover Vast Amounts Of Drugs
Foote was taken into custody on related Connecticut State narcotics charges on April 13, 2023. On that date, Investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search of Foote’s Aetna Street residence and his vehicle parked in front of his home. During the search, Investigators uncovered and seized more than 34,0000 baggies containing a deadly mixture of fentanyl, heroin, and xylazine, approximately 160 grams of crack cocaine, and six grams of powder cocaine.
In addition, Investigators located and seized items used to process and package narcotics for street-level sales, a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, and more than $122,000 in U.S. currency in denominations consistent with narcotics distribution.
U.S. Attorney Sullivan commended the investigative work of the DEA New Haven Task Force, the Waterbury Police Department, the Naugatuck Police Department, and the Connecticut State Police for the successful prosecution of Foote.
