Palisades Park Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting A Child

PALISADES PARK, NJ.- On Wednesday, following an investigation, a 23-year-old Palisades Park, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred last month in Palisades Park, New Jersey.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Monday, June 2, 2025, the Palisades Park Police Department contacted the Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an allegation of the sexual assault of a minor child that had occurred in May in Palisades Park, New Jersey.
Investigation Uncovers Child Sex Crimes
During an ensuing investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Palisades Park Police Department, Detectives quickly determined that Emerson D. Perez Garcia sexually assaulted and endangered a child in Palisades Park, New Jersey, in May 2025.
Accordingly, as a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Detectives formally charged Garcia with one count of second-degree Sexual Assault; and third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Garcia surrendered to Detectives at the Palisades Park Police Department.
Garcia was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
