Pa Teens Charged In Saturday Night Shooting

Northampton County Teenagers Charged In Shots Fired Incident

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ.- Late Saturday night, a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from Northampton County, Pennsylvania, were taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with a shooting incident involving an assault rifle that occurred late Saturday night in Greenwich Township, New Jersey.

     According to Acting Warren County Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at around 10:45 p.m., members of the Greenwich Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting gunfire in the area of Dumont Drive and Hamilton Road in the Township.

Police Learn One Person Fled, Two Teens Charged

     Upon arrival, Police Officers were unable to locate anyone who was injured or property damaged. During the initial investigation, Police Officers recovered an assault rifle, armor-piercing ammunition, and a large-capacity magazine. One individual fled the scene before Police arrived, and two Pennsylvania teenagers were taken into custody and formally charged.

     The 14-year-old teen was formally charged with acts of juvenile delinquency with second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Assault Rifle; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; fourth-degree Possession of Prohibited Weapons and Devices, Armor Piercing Ammunition; and fourth-degree Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine.

     The 17-year-old teen was formally charged with acts of juvenile delinquency with second-degree Conspiracy for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Assault Rifle; second-degree Conspiracy for Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Discharging a Prohibited Firearm within a Residential Area; fourth-degree Conspiracy for Possession of Prohibited Weapons or Devices, Armor Piercing Ammunition; and fourth-degree Conspiracy for Possession of a Large-Capacity Magazine.

     Following the filing of the charges, each complaint was approved on a warrant, and the juveniles were detained pending a Preliminary Hearing before a Family Court Judge in Warren County Superior Court Family Law Division in Belvidere, New Jersey.
