Tuesday, June 10, 2025, 7:15 A.M. ET. 2 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

DENVILLE, NJ.- A 36-year-old Rockaway Township, New Jersey, woman, currently suspended from her position as a Morris Knolls Hills High School teacher, is facing up to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison after being taken into custody on Friday and charged in connection with allegedly engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with a seventeen-year-old student.

According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, following a months-long investigation on Friday, June 6, 2025, Alyssa Perry, 36, of Rockaway Township, New Jersey, was taken into custody and formally charged with two counts of second-degree Sexual Assault; and third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Perry Was Released Pending Future Court Proceedings

Perry was processed on the charges and released on a complaint summons pending her first appearance scheduled for Friday, June 14, 2025, in Morris County Superior Court. As a condition of her release, Perry will be subject to pre-trial monitoring and has been ordered to have no contact with the victim or the school where she is currently suspended.

The charges stem from an investigation that began in March 2025, when an administrator at Morris Knolls High School contacted the Denville Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office regarding allegations of inappropriate behavior by one of the school’s teachers.

Detectives Find Probable Cause For Charges To Be Filed

During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit and the Denville Police Department, in conjunction with The Rockaway Township Police Department, determined that on two occasions between February and March 2025, while at her Rockaway Township home, sexually assaulted the victim, who was a 17-year-old at the time.

Perry is a former teacher and tutor of the teen and currently works as a teacher at the school where the teen attends. School administrators have placed Perry on administrative suspension pending potential termination proceedings.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
