Staten Island Man Sentenced For Distributing Drugs In Vermont

BURLINGTON, VT.- A 31-year-old Staten Island, New York, man, and convicted drug dealer will be spending nearly the next four years in federal prison after being sentenced on Friday for conspiring to distribute deadly fentanyl in St. Johnsbury, Vermont while being on federal supervised release.

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Michael P. Drescher, on Friday, June 6, 2025, Xavier Parker, 31, of Staten Island, New York, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge William K. Sessions, III, to 18 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea to a federal narcotics violation.

     Parker previously appeared in Federal Court in Burlington, Vermont, and pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Fentanyl. During his plea allocution, Parker admitted that in February and March 2024, he worked with a co-conspirator to distribute fentanyl in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

Judge Sessions Sentences Parker To An Additional Two Years

     In handing down the sentence on Friday, Judge Sessions sentenced Parker to an additional 24 months in federal prison to run consecutively to the 18 months for violating the terms and conditions of federal supervised release.

     According to charging documents filed with the District Court, during a narcotics investigation, Investigators made multiple controlled purchases of fentanyl from Parker. During his arrest, Investigators found additional quantities of illicit narcotics hidden on his person, including 12.1 grams of crack cocaine, 2.2 grams of fentanyl, 0.67 grams of heroin, and 5.6 grams of powder cocaine.

     Specifically, Parker committed the offense while on federal supervised release following his 2020 conviction in the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont for conspiracy to distribute heroin and crack cocaine. Parker began his term of supervised release in August 2022.
