Man Fatally Gunned Down, 3 Hospitalized In Northeast D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- The Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred early Monday afternoon outside a market in Northeast, D.C., claiming the life of a 31-year-old man and leaving three others hospitalized from gunshot wounds in what appears to be an apparent targeted shooting.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Monday, June 9, 2025, just shortly after 12:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to multiple 911 Emergency Calls reporting a shooting on the 1200 Block of Mount Olivet Road in Northeast, D.C.

Police Officers Find Three Men Shot Outside A Market

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found three men, all suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. All three victims were immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, one of the men, later identified as Breon Quick, 31, of Northeast, D.C., succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later. The other two men remain hospitalized and are being treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police Officers Find Fourth Victim A Woman At The Hospital

     A short time later, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department was notified that an adult female arrived at a local hospital seeking treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

     During the initial investigation, Detectives determined that all four individuals were shot in the shooting.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time as Police continue the search for the gunmen and a motive for the shooting.
