HARTFORD, CT.- A 37-year-old New Britain, Connecticut, man, and previously convicted child pornographer will be spending the next decade in federal prison after being sentenced on Monday in Federal Court in Hartford, Connecticut, for possessing thousands of digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.

According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Monday, June 9, 2025, Joshua Glaeser, 37, of New Britain, Connecticut, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Omar A. Williams to 120 months in federal prison, to be followed by fifteen years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea to a federal child pornography violation.

Glaeser, who has been detained since his arrest on December 9, 2022, appeared in Federal Court on September 26, 2024, and pleaded guilty to Possession of Child Pornography.

According To Charging Documents Filed With The Court

According to charging documents filed with the District Court, during the summer of 2022, a Connecticut State Police Detective investigating internet child pornography crimes identified an IP address at Glaeser’s New Britain residence that was being utilized for the distribution of child pornography. Previously, in 2012, Glaeser was convicted in Connecticut State Court of Possession of Child Pornography. In that case, Glaeser was sentenced to 10 years in State Prison, suspended after serving two years, followed by 10 years of probation, which Glaeser was serving at the time of the instant offense.

On December 9, 2022, during the investigation, Agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations executed a court-authorized search warrant at Glaeser’s New Britain residence and seized his Chromebook, tablet, smartphone, and storage cards. During a forensic examination of the devices, Investigators uncovered more than 3,000 digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children, including images of infants and toddlers being sexually abused by adults.

The investigation also uncovered that Glaeser was utilizing a peer-to-peer file-sharing application and network to distribute child pornography to others through the internet.
