WASHINGTON, DC.- On Tuesday, a 37-year-old Southeast, D.C., man was taken into custody and charged in connection with the gunpoint robbery of a Northeast, D.C. Tire Shop that occurred in late April 2025.

According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, just shortly after 3:15 a.m., two suspects approached and entered a 24-hour tire shop located on the 400 Block of Florida Avenue in Northeast, D.C. Upon entering the tire shop the two suspects approached an employee, and pulled out handguns and demanded that the employee take them to the cash register.

The suspects then forced the cash register open, grabbed the money out of the cash register, and fled the scene on foot.

During the ensuing investigation, Detectives identified one of the suspects as Angelo Maurice Harris, 37, of Southeast, D.C., and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Harris was located and, pursuant to a District Court Criminal Complaint, was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of Armed Robbery.
