Two Men Sentenced For Their Roles In West Virginia Drug Trafficking Network

CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- A 35-year-old Youngstown, Ohio, man and a 28-year-old Pennsauken, New Jersey, man were sentenced on Wednesday for their roles in a drug trafficking organization that operated within the Northern District of West Virginia.

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Jason Davis, 35, of Youngstown, Ohio, and James Peoples, II, 28, of Pennsauken Township, New Jersey, each appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and were sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Kleeh for their previously entered guilty pleas to federal narcotics violations.

     Judge Kleeh sentenced Davis to 135 months in federal prison and Peoples to 72 months in federal prison. In addition, both men were sentenced to terms of supervised release.

According To Charging Documents Filed With The Court

     According to charging documents filed with the District Court, during an investigation into drug trafficking in the Northern District of West Virginia, local, state, and federal law enforcement Investigators identified as narcotics distributors for a Monongalia County, West Virginia, drug trafficking organization.

     During their previous plea allocations, both Davis and Peoples admitted that they worked with others to distribute quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine within Morgantown, West Virginia.
