Man Fatally Gunned Down Late Saturday Morning On A Millville Street

MILLVILLE, NJ.- Detectives of the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office and the Millville City Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 20-year-old Millville, New Jersey, man, who was fatally gunned down Saturday morning in the City of Millville.

     According to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, just shortly after 11:00 a.m., members of the Millville Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on the 300 Block of Maurice Street in the City of Millville.

Police Officers Find Man Shot

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Richard Rhett, 20, of Millville, New Jersey, suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Mr. Rhett was immediately transported to Inspira Hospital in Vineland, New Jersey, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Rhett succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Police continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
