RICHMOND, VA.- Last Wednesday, a 50-year-old Powhatan, Virginia, man learned he could possibly die in federal prison after being sentenced to over three decades for drugging and sexually exploiting a teenage girl for his deviant sexual gratification.

On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Daniel Wade Kidd, 50, of Powhatan, Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge M. Hannah Lauck to 396 months in federal prison for his conviction of Transporting a Minor Across State Lines with Intent to Engage in Sexually Explicit Conduct; Corecing and Enticement of a Minor; and Production of Child Pornography.

According To Court Documents

According to U.S. Attorney Erik S. Siebert and documents filed with the District Court, Kidd spent thousands of dollars to coerce and entice a teenage girl to travel to Virginia in 2022 so that he could sexually abuse her over the course of a week.

Kidd’s co-defendant, Rosalinda Delgado Rosas, 36, schemed to obtain control and custody of the teen girl and to give her expensive gifts and experiences to coerce her into engaging in sexual acts with Kidd. Prior to the nightly sexual abuse acts, The girl was given medications, including some that made her drowsy. Kidd and Rosas also video-recorded Kidd’s sexual abuse of the girl.

Rosas previously appeared in Federal Court in Richmond, Virginia, and was sentenced to 300 months in federal prison for her role in the sexual abuse scheme.
