Maryland Man Fatally Gunned Down Early Sunday Morning In Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 33-year-old Oxon Hill, Maryland, man became the latest victim to be killed in the continuing violence plaguing the Nation’s Capitol City after he was fatally gunned down early Sunday morning in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Sunday, June 15, 2025, just shortly before 2:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to a residence located on the 1000 Block of 16th Street in Northeast, D.C., on a report of an individual being shot.
Police Officers Find Maryland Fatally Shot
Upon arrival, Police Officers found the man, later identified as Decordre Chiles, 33, of Oxon Hill, Maryland, having succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound. Mr. Chiles was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time as Detectives continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death and the search for the gunman.
