Hopkinsville Man Sentenced For Distributing Methamphetamine

PADUCAH, KY.- A 45-year-old local Hopkinsville, Kentucky, drug dealer was sentenced last Wednesday to a decade in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine throughout the Hopkinsville, Kentucky, area.

     According to U.S. Attorney Kyle G. Bumgarner, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Troy Clark, 45, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky and was sentenced to 120 months, to be followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to three counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.

According To Charging Documents

     According to documents filed with the District Court, during an investigation into illicit narcotics activities within the Hopkinsville, Kentucky, area, Clark sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant during controlled buys under the observation of law enforcement Investigators.

     Specifically, on November 24, 2021, Clark sold 46.46 grams of pure methamphetamine to the confidential informant. On December 3, 2021, Clark sold 100.1 grams of pure methamphetamine once again to the confidential informant, and finally, on January 25, 2022, Clark sold 104.18 grams of pure methamphetamine to the informant.

     On January 27, 2022, following the controlled purchases, law enforcement Investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at Clark’s residence in Hopkinsville. During the search, Investigators located and seized around two ounces of methamphetamine.

     During his previous plea allocution, Clark admitted to selling methamphetamine on three occasions and further admitted that he intended to sell the two ounces of methamphetamine that were found by law enforcement Investigators during the execution of the search warrant.
