D.C. Double Fatal Shooting Investigation

Two Men Fatally Gunned Down Early Sunday Morning In The Kingman Park Neighborhood

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 30-year-old Northeast, D.C., man and a 41-year-old Southeast, D.C., man became the latest victims to fall prey to the continuing gun violence plaguing Washington, D.C., after the two men were fatally gunned down early Sunday morning in the Kingman Park neighborhood in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, just minutes after 12:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District were on routine patrol near the 1800 Block of D Street in Northeast, D.C., when they heard gunfire.

Police Officers Find Two Men Shot Dead

     While canvassing the area, Police Officers discovered two men, later identified as Quanzay Lynch, 30, of Northeast, D.C., and Cortney Burley, 41, of Southeast, D.C., unresponsive, both having succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Both men were subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as D.C. Homicide Branch Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
