Man Fatally Gunned Down Thursday Night On An Atlantic City Sidewalk

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- A 40-year-old Atlantic City, New Jersey, man became the latest victim to fall prey to gun violence plaguing the cities of New Jersey, after he was struck and killed by gunfire Thursday night on an Atlantic City sidewalk.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, just shortly before 9:00 p.m., members of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a man lying on the sidewalk outside the Shore Park apartments located on the 200 Block of North Virginia Avenue in the City.
Police Officers Find Man Shot Dead On Sidewalk
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Robert Stanley Davis, 40, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, unresponsive on the sidewalk, having succumbed to an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Mr. Davis was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.
A subsequent post-mortem examination by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office on Mr. Davis determined the Cause of Death to be a Gunshot Wound, and the Manner of Death to be Homicide.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department Violent Crimes Unit continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of Mr. Davis.
