Lowell Man Charged With Possessing & Distributing Child Pornography

BOSTON, MA.- A 34-year-old Lowell, Massachusetts, man is facing up to 40 years in federal prison after being taken into custody on Wednesday and jailed after being criminally charged in connection with allegedly possessing and distributing digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent children.

     According to U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley, a Federal Grand Jury for the District of Massachusetts returned an indictment charging Anthony Saint Jean, 34, of Lowell, Massachusetts, with one count of Distribution of Child Pornography; and one count of Possession of Child Pornography. Saint Jean was arrested early Wednesday morning, June 25, 2025, at his residence. 

     After being processed on the charges, Saint Jean made his initial appearance in Federal Court in Boston, Massachusetts, and was ordered detained, pending a detention hearing.

According To Charging Information In Filed In The Indictment

     According to the charging information unsealed in the indictment, it is alleged that between March 17, 2024, and August 20, 2024, Saint Jean knowingly utilized the internet to distribute video files containing child pornography. It is further alleged that Saint Jean possessed digital images and video files of child pornography, including some that depicted the sexual exploitation and abuse of children younger than 12 years old.

     If convicted at trial, Saint Jean faces a mandatory minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison, as well as at least three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine on each of the counts.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
