Police Searching For Suspect In Last Sunday’s Southeast Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with gunning down two people last Sunday night in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at around 6:45 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to 911 Emergency Calls reporting a shooting at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and Mellon Street in the Congress Heights neighborhood in Southeast, D.C.
Police Arrive At Shooting Scene And Find Two Shot
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man and a 16-year-old boy, both having sustained gunshot wounds. The two shooting victims were immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
During the ensuing investigation, Metropolitan Police Detectives recovered area surveillance camera footage that captured the suspect shown in the above photo.
