Dominican Man Charged With Drug Trafficking In New Hampshire

CONCORD, NH.- A 39-year-old Dominican Republic national, illegally residing in Dorchester, Massachusetts, is facing up to 20 years in federal prison, after being taken into custody and charged in connection with allegedly distributing quantities of crack cocaine and fentanyl throughout the Manchester, New Hampshire, area.

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Jay McCormack, on Monday, June 30, 2025, Daris Rafael Melo Vittini, 39, a Dominican national, illegally residing in Manchester, New Hampshire, was taken into custody and charged by federal criminal complaint with one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance, Crack Cocaine, and Fentanyl.

     Following being processed on the charge, Melo Vittini made his initial appearance in Federal Court in Concord, New Hampshire, and was ordered detained pending trial.

According To The Criminal Complaint

     According to the charging information filed in the criminal complaint, on Monday, June 30, 2025, members of the Manchester Police Department observed Melo Vittini driving around the City of Manchester in a vehicle that was known to the Manchester Police Department as being involved in narcotics trafficking activities. 

     Manchester Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on Melo Vittini’s vehicle. During the traffic stop, a narcotics-detecting K-9 positively alerted to narcotics coming from the car. During the subsequent search of the vehicle, Police Officers located a concealed compartment in the center console of the car and uncovered and seized around 114 grams of suspected fentanyl and 13 grams of suspected crack cocaine, all in prepackaged baggies.

     Also inside the vehicle’s concealed compartment, Police Officers found $1,500 in U.S. currency in denominations of street-level narcotics sales. During his arrest, Police Officers found on Melo Vittini’s person, around 45 grams of suspected fentanyl and 37 grams of suspected crack cocaine, also in prepackaged baggies. In total, Police Officers located and seized 119 prepackaged baggies of crack cocaine and fentanyl.

     If convicted at trial, Melo Vittini faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison, as well as a term of supervised release ranging from at least three years to a lifetime, and a fine of up to $1 million. Upon completion of any sentence imposed upon a finding of guilt, Melo Vittini will face immediate deportation proceedings and be removed from the United States.
