Police Searching For Suspect In Thursday Northeast Tire Iron Assault

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with Thursday’s violent assault in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at around 1:50 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District responded to a report of an assault in the rear of the 1300 Block of Florida Avenue in Northeast, D.C.

Upon Arrival, Police Officers Find Victim Injured

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim, who reported that an unknown man struck him from behind with a tire iron before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. The victim was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital for treatment of his injury.

     Police Officers were able to recover video surveillance, which captured a picture of the suspect as he fled the area and can be seen in the above photograph.
