Child Hospitalized After Being Shot Monday Night Inside A Perth Amboy Home

PERTH AMBOY, NJ.- Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred late Monday night inside a Perth Amboy, New Jersey home, leaving a 5-year-old child hospitalized from a gunshot wound.
According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, on Monday, July 7, 2025, just shortly after 11:00 p.m., members of the Perth Amboy Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting shots being fired inside a Cortland Street residence in the City of Perth Amboy.
Upon Arrival, Police Officers Find 5-Year-Old Girl Shot
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 5-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where as of Tuesday night, she remains hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.
Although the circumstances that led up to the shooting were not reported, Police have reported that there is no threat to the public at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing. No arrests have been reported.
