Police Charge Man In May’s Road Rage Shooting In Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Wednesday, a 47-year-old Southeast, D.C., man was taken into custody and charged in connection with a shooting that occurred during a road rage incident in May 2025, in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, shortly before 9:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of 58th and Foote Streets in Northeast, D.C.
Police Learn Shooting Occurred During A Road Rage Incident
Upon arrival, Police Officers learned the suspect and victim were driving in their vehicles at the intersection of Eastern and Division Avenues in Northeast, D.C., when the suspect attempted to cut in front of the victim from a turning lane to proceed straight through the intersection. The victim did not allow the suspect to cut in front of them.
The suspect then followed the victim to the intersection of 58th and Foote Streets, where the suspect shot at the victim, striking the victim’s vehicle, with the victim narrowly escaping injury.
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Marcus Reavenell, 47, of Southeast, D.C., and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Reavenell was located and taken into custody in Maryland. Reavenell waived extradition and was transported to the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District, where he was processed on the D.C. Superior Court warrant charging him with one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
