Man Fatally Gunned Down Saturday Night In The City Of Paterson

PATERSON, NJ.- The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Department are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 52-year-old Hackensack, New Jersey, man, after he became the latest victim to fall prey to the continuing gun violence plaguing the streets in Paterson, New Jersey.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, just shortly before 10:45 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Clinton Street and Garfield Avenue in the City of Paterson.
Upon Arrival, Police Officers Find Man Shot On Sidewalk
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, identified only as a 52-year-old Hackensack, New Jersey, man lying on the sidewalk, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
