Huntington Local Drug Dealer Sentenced For Federal Drug Crime

HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- Yesterday, a 33-year-old Huntington, West Virginia, man, and a local drug dealer, will be spending the next five years in federal prison after being sentenced for distributing quantities of deadly fentanyl and crack cocaine within the Southern District of West Virginia, specifically in Huntington, West Virginia.

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa G. Johnston, on Monday, July 14, 2025, Semaj Markes Leondre Figg, 33, of Huntington, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Robert C. Chambers to 60 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances, Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine.

According To Court Documents

     According to charging documents and statements made in the District Court, on February 9, 2024, members of the Huntington Police Department responded to 911 Emergency Calls reporting gunfire at an 11th Avenue residence in Huntington, West Virginia. 

     Upon arrival, Police Officers encountered Figg, who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. Following Figg being taken into custody, Police Officers obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at Figg’s 11th Avenue residence. During the search, Police Officers located and seized around 30 grams of crack cocaine, around 54 grams of fentanyl, a Glock .22C pistol, and a Ruger-5.7 handgun.

During His Plea Hearing, Figg Admits To Possessing The Drugs

     During his previous plea allocution, Figg admitted to possessing the crack cocaine and fentanyl, and that he intended to distribute the substances within the Huntington, West Virginia area. 

     Acting U.S. Attorney Johnston commended the investigative work of the Huntington Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, which led to the successful prosecution of Figg.
