According to court documents, on April 30, 2025, members of the Beachwood Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a bicyclist being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Mizzen Avenue and Locker Street in the Borough of Beachwood.
During a subsequent investigation, Detectives of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Unit and the Beachwood Police Department determined that a 17-year-old male was operating an electric bicycle northbound on Locker Street when he was struck at the intersection of Locker Street and Mizzen Avenue by a motor vehicle traveling eastbound on Mizzen Avenue.
The vehicle failed to stop or did not call local authorities for assistance. The teenage boy sustained serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, and has since been released and continues to recover at home.
Further investigation uncovered that Gable was operating the vehicle that struck the teen and that he was unlicensed at the time of the crash.
