WASHINGTON, DC.- Last Friday, two members of the violent D.C. Wellington Park street gang learned they could possibly die in federal prison after being sentenced collectively to over a century in prison for the 2018 shooting death of 10-year-old Makiyah Wilson of Northeast, D.C.

Price was sentenced to 600 months in federal prison, and Murchison was sentenced to 864 months in federal prison for their convictions in September 2024.

During the same trial, the jury found Quanisha Ramsuer, 31, guilty of Obstruction of Justice in connection with the investigation into the fatal shooting of Makiyah Wilson.

According To Evidence Presented At During TheTrial

According to the evidence presented at trial, on July 16, 2018, Price and Murchison, along with three other individuals, drove to the Clay Terrace neighborhood in Northeast, D.C., armed with guns. Price, who was driving, briefly stopped to allow the other defendants to exit the vehicle. Upon leaving the vehicle, they opened fire on the Clay Terrace courtyard, firing more than 50 rounds.

An innocent bystander, Makiyah, was struck by random gunfire while she was sitting on the front stoop of her home, resulting in her death. Several other people were struck and injured in the shooting.

U.S. Attorney Pirro commended the investigative work of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, which resulted in the successful prosecutions of Price and Murchison.
