ASBURY PARK, NJ.- Last Monday, following an investigation, a 19-year-old Asbury Park, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with fatally gunning down a man on an Asbury Park street earlier this year.

According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, on Monday, July 14, 2025, Jordan I. Glisson, 19, of Asbury Park, New Jersey, was formally charged with one count of first-degree Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

The Charges Are The Result Of An Investigation

The charges stem from an investigation that began on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, when shortly before 4:30 p.m., members of the Asbury Park Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on the 1100 Block of Atlantic Avenue in the City.

Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Ah’kim Esdaile, 19, of Asbury Park, New Jersey, on the ground, having sustained multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. Mr. Esdaile was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Esdaile tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Asbury Park Police Department were able to identify Glisson as the shooter and the individual responsible for the death of Mr. Edaile, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Monday, July 14, 2025, Glisson was located and taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Asbury Police Department. Following being processed on the charges, Glisson was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, pending future court proceedings in Monmouth County Superior Court in Freehold, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
