One Dead, One On The Run In Early Friday Morning Northeast Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding an apparent dispute between two roommates that occurred early Friday morning in Northeast, D.C., leaving one roommate dead, and another on the run.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, July 18, 2025, at around 12:15 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an apparent disturbance involving roommates inside an apartment, located on the 100 Block of Fort Drive in Northeast, D.C.

Responding Officers Find Man Shot Dead Inside An Apartment

     Upon arrival, Police Officers made entry into the apartment and located a man, later identified as Allen Sharpshire, 41, of Northeast, D.C., having succumbed to an unknown injury. Mr. Sharpshire was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

     On Saturday, July 19, 2025, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the Cause of Mr. Sharpshire’s death to be a gunshot wound, and the Manner to be Homicide.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing, and no arrests have been made as of last night.
