BUFFALO, NY.- A 29-year-old Buffalo, New York, man, who was first charged earlier this month by the Buffalo Police Department with narcotics and weapons offenses, is facing up to 15 years in federal prison after being taken into custody and charged last Friday by federal criminal complaint with an alleged federal firearms violation.

According to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo, on Friday, July 18, Aden Ibrahim, 29, of Buffalo, New York, was taken into custody and charged with being a Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm, Convicted Felon. Following his arrest, Ibrahim made his initial appearance before U.S. District Court Judge Michael J. Romer in the Federal Court in Buffalo, New York, and was ordered detained pending trial.

According To The Charging Information Filed In The Complaint

According to the charging information filed in the criminal complaint, during the morning hours of Wednesday, July 9, 2025, members of the Buffalo Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an unwelcomed guest at a Woodette Place residence in the City of Buffalo. Upon arrival, Police Officers were informed by the complainant that an individual known as “Beano” refused to leave the residence.

The complainant further informed responding Police Officers that “Beano” was in possession of crack cocaine and a firearm. Police Officers later observed “Beano” exit the residence and led Police Officers on a brief foot pursuit. Police Officers quickly apprehended “Beano” and found him to be in possession of a U.S. Permanent Resident Green Card, identifying him as Aden Ibrahim.

After arresting Ibrahim, Buffalo Police Officer contacted Detectives, who responded to the residence and observed in plain view a revolver with tape on the handle lying on the floor of the bedroom. The complaintant stated to Detectives that “Beano” was staying in the room and that all contents in the bedroom belonged to him.

Detectives subsequently obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant for the bedroom in the residence. During the search, Detectives located and seized a revolver, ammunition, just around 26 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Ibrahim was convicted of felonies in March 2022 and January 2024, and is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm and ammunition.
