Police Charge Two Teens In Northeast D.C. Armed Robbery Spree

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Sunday, July 20, 2025, Police apprehended a 14-year-old Northeast, D.C. boy and a 16-year-old Southeast, D.C. boy and charged them in connection with a two-month string of armed robberies that occurred in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, it is alleged that in each offense, the teen suspects exited a vehicle, brandished a firearm, approached the victim and demanded their money and property, and then fled each of the scenes.
Detectives Link The Teens To Six Armed Robberies
During the subsequent investigations, Detectives determined that the following robberies were committed by the duo: April 26, 2025, at approximately 9:35 p.m., within the 3000 Block of 7th Street in Northeast, D.C; on April 30, 2025, at approximately 11:10 p.m., within the 500 Block of Regent Place in Northeast, D.C; on May 1, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., within the 300 Block of Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast, D.C; on May 1, 2025, at approximately 4:20 a.m., within the Douglas Street in Northeast, D.C; on May 1, 2025, at approximately 4:33 a.m., within the 2600 Block of 3rd Street in Nertheast, D.C; and on May 1, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., within the 3000 Block of 7th Street in Northeast, D.C.
   Based on the investigation, both teens were located and taken into custody pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, and each was charged with six counts of Armed Robbery. The teens were processed on the charges, pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia Family Law Division. It is unknown if the teens were detained or released to their legal guardians.
