Norwalk’s “Spank” Sentenced For Distributing Kilograms Of Narcotics

HARTFORD, CT.- A 42-year-old Norwalk, Connecticut, drug trafficker will be spending the next five years in federal prison, after being sentenced on Wednesday for distributing large quantities of cocaine, deadly fentanyl, and heroin throughout the streets of Norwalk, Connecticut.
According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Jelson Perez, also known as “Spank,” 42, of Norwalk, Connecticut, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Vernon D. Oliver to 60 months in federal prison, to be followed by four years of supervised release for his role in a federal drug trafficking conspiracy.
Perez, who has been detained since his initial arrest in April 2024, appeared in Federal Court in Hartford, Connecticut, on April 30, 2025, and pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute 40 Grams or More of Fentanyl, and Quantities of Heroin and Cocaine.
According To Charging Information Filed With The Court
According to charging documents and statements made in the District Court, in May 2023, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force and the Norwalk Police Department launched an investigation into a drug trafficking organization that was responsible for distributing large quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin in the Norwalk, Connecticut area.
The investigation, which included court-authorized wiretaps and multiple controlled buys of illicit narcotics, determined that the organization was coordinating the transportation of kilogram quantities of cocaine from Texas and Ohio, and kilogram quantities of fentanyl and heroin from New York City, and distributing the illicit narcotics throughout the Norwalk, Connecticut, area through a network of co-conspirators, including Perez. The investigation uncovered and confirmed that Perez brokered the purchase of a firearm for another member of the drug trafficking organization.
Perez and several associates were taken into custody on April 29, 2024. As a result of the arrests, Investigators executed multiple court-authorized search warrants and seized around 15,000 single-dose bags of fentanyl, around 350 grams of raw heroin, large quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine, a 9mm handgun, and ammunition. Investigators also seized a 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was being utilized in the drug trafficking organization.
