Police Searching For A Suspect In The Killing Of A Southeast D.C. Man

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is actively searching for a suspect in connection with the death of an elderly Washington, D.C., man, whose remains were found last Sunday afternoon inside his Southeast, D.C. home.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Sunday, July 20, 2025, just shortly before 3:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a request for a welfare check of an elderly man at a residence located on the 4600 Block of B Street in Southeast, D.C.

Police Officers Find Body Of Elderly Man

     Upon making entry into the home, Police Officers discovered the deceased body of Charles Granger, 65, of Southeast, D.C., inside the residence. Mr. Granger’s remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy determined the manner of death to be a homicide.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time, as Detectives are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr.Granger.
