BRIDGEPORT, CT.- On Thursday, a 24-year-old Pelham, New York, woman learned she will be facing up to 20 years in federal prison when sentenced after pleading guilty to a federal child sexual exploitation charge.
According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, Sasha May, formerly known as Owen May, 24, of Pelham, New York, appeared in the U.S. District Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and waived her right to an indictment and immediately pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Kari A. Dooley to a criminal complaint charging her with Possession and Access with Intent to View Child Pornography.
May Is Scheduled To Be Sentenced On October 16, 2025
Following entering her guilty plea on Thursday, Judge Dooley accepted May’s plea and scheduled sentencing for October 16, 2025. At that time, May faces up to 20 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and will be required to register as a sex offender in the national sex offender database. At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and May’s prior criminal history.
She Will Remain Free On Bond Pending Sentencing
May, who was taken into custody on a federal criminal complaint on August 26, 2024, was released on a $100,000 bond and on home confinement with electronic monitoring pending sentencing.
According To Charging Documents
According to the charging information filed in the criminal complaint, between December 2023 and May 2024, May engaged in online conversations with an undercover law enforcement Officer on the Instant Messaging platforms Kik and Whisper. In those conversations, May expressed and detailed her sexual interests in prepubescent and pubescent children and distributed digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
U.S. Attorney Sullivan commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation Task Force, the Greenwich Police Department, and the Pelham, New York Police Department, which led to May’s guilty plea on Thursday.
