BALTIMORE, MD.- A 45-year-old Baltimore, Maryland, man, and the leader of a Maryland drug trafficking organization, will be spending the next decade in federal prison, after being sentenced last Friday for federal narcotics and firearms offenses.
According to U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes, on Friday, July 25, 2025, Vincent Edison, 45, of Baltimore, Maryland, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Ellen L. Hollander to 120 months in federal prison, to be followed by a term of supervised release, after pleading guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Fentanyl; and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.
Edison Admits That He Led A Drug Trafficking Organization
As part of his previously entered guilty plea, Edison admitted that he was the leader of a drug trafficking organization that distributed large quantities of fentanyl within West Baltimore and elsewhere in the State of Maryland.
According To Court Documents
According to charging documents and statements made in the District Court, in 2022, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration identified Edison as the leader of a street drug trafficking organization that operated on Winchester and North Dukeland Streets in West Baltimore and launched an investigation into the organization’s drug distribution activities.
During the investigation, Edison’s drug trafficking organization sold fentanyl capsules to countless individuals, including undercover investigators, daily, for up to 12 hours a day for several months. The investigation also uncovered that Edison routinely sent text messages to his street dealers, imploring them to open up operations by no later than 7:00 a.m., or he would dock half their daily pay. Investigators also learned from additional text messages when Edison would terminate street dealers and how he collected drug proceeds from drug sales.
In addition to Edison’s Baltimore-based customers, his organization also supplied fentanyl to customers throughout Maryland.
On December 7, 2022, Investigators surveilled the drug organization via closed-circuit cameras. Investigators also observed Edison arriving at the street distribution point in the afternoon, where he delivered a black plastic bag to one of his dealers. Meanwhile, investigators observed drug customers’ vehicles parked nearby.
Investigators checked the parked vehicles’ registrations and took note of a Chevy registered to an individual from Washington County, Maryland. The customer who owned the Chevy returned from the street distribution point, got in the car, and left the area. Federal Investigators notified local law enforcement Officers to conduct a traffic stop on the Chevy. When the Chevy arrived in Washington County, Maryland, Police Officers stopped and searched it, locating and seizing 500 gel caps of fentanyl inside a black plastic bag for a total weight of 263 grams.
During The Investigation, Investigators Locate Edison’s Stash House
As the investigation moved forward, Investigators were able to identify Edison’s stash house in Baltimore County, Maryland. The stash house was used to prepare fentanyl for distribution. Investigators observed Edison frequenting the stash house daily and believed that he obtained drugs that he secreted inside black plastic bags. Then Edison would deliver them to his street-level dealers.
During the afternoon hours of December 11, 2022, Investigators surveilled the stash house via a covert camera and observed Edison leave the location with a black plastic bag. Edison drove to the street distribution location and delivered the bag to street dealers. Soon thereafter, Investigators observed an increase in drug activity.
On January 27, 2023, Investigators obtained and executed court-authorized search warrants at Edison’s Baltimore City residence and his Baltimore County stash house. Edison was present at his residence at the time of the search. During the search, Investigators located and seized five firearms, including an AR-Style rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, and three fully loaded semi-automatic handguns. Investigators additionally located and seized 70 grams of fentanyl, multiple luxury jewelry items, valued at around $150,000, and around $90,805 in U.S. currency.
Additionally, at the stash house, Investigators uncovered a fentanyl lab at the location. The lab contained hundreds of capsules, 22 Cap-M-Quick capsules, fillers, a digital scale, numerous latex gloves, and paraphernalia for packaging fentanyl for distribution. Investigators also located and seized 133.28 grams of fentanyl from a clear plastic bag and 400 capsules containing fentanyl powder weighing a total of 307 grams.Â
