Essex County Man Struck By Gunfire Monday Night In The City Of Paterson

PATERSON, NJ.- A 19-year-old Newark, New Jersey, man became the second victim to be struck by gunfire in less than eight hours on Monday, as gun violence continues to plague the streets in the City of Paterson, New Jersey. 

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camela M. Valdes, on Monday, August 4, 2025, shortly after 10:30 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Park Avenue and Summer Street in the Eastside section of the City of Paterson.

Police Officers Find Newark, New Jersey Man Shot

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found evidence of a shooting crime scene and quickly located a 19-year-old Newark, New Jersey, man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man was immediately transported by Paterson Fire and Emergency Medical Service to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
