Washington Township Senior Citizen Charged With Child Sexual Assault & Pornography

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Monday, following an investigation, a 71-year-old Washington Township, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with the alleged sexual assault of a child, and allegedly possessing digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.

     According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Gregory Rademacher, 71, of Washington Township, New Jersey, was formally charged with one count of second-degree Sexual Assault; one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, by Sexual Conduct With a Child Under the Age of Eighteen; one count of third-degree Possession of Child Pornography; and third-degree Witness Tampering. 

     On Sunday, July 27, 2025, a 10-year-old child disclosed to law enforcement that Rademacher had committed multiple acts of sexual contact upon the young boy while he was visiting Rademacher’s residence located in Washington Township, New Jersey. The child also alleged that Rademacher showed him a sex toy.

During A Search, Investigators Find Child Pornography

     At the culmination of the investigation, Investigators executed a court-authorized search warrant at Rademacher’s residence. During the search, Investigators seized multiple electronic devices. During a preliminary examination of the devices, Investigators uncovered multiple digital images depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.

     On Monday, August 4, 2025, during the search, Rademacher was taken into custody and charged. Following being processed on the above charges, Rademacher was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility, pending future court proceedings in Morris County Superior Court. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office filed a motion with the court to have Rademacher detained pending trial. As of yesterday afternoon, the motion remains pending.
