Bergen County Man Found Guilty Of Sexually Assaulting A Young Child

NORTH BERGEN, NJ.- A 59-year-old Palisades Park, New Jersey, man learned he would most likely die in New Jersey State Prison, after being found guilty yesterday for the horrific and repeated sexual assaults of a young girl under the age of ten in North Bergen, New Jersey.
According to Hudson County Acting Prosecutor Wayne Melo, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, following a three-day trial before Superior Court Judge Nesle Rodriguez in Hudson County Superior Court, a Jury found Carlos Perez, 59, of Palisades Park, New Jersey, guilty of two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; second-degree Sexual Assault; and second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Perez Faces Up To Life In State Prison
Following the jury’s return of their findings of guilt, Judge Rodriguez accepted the verdict and scheduled sentencing for October 31, 2025. At that time, Perez faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years and up to life in New Jersey State Prison, and is subject to parole supervision for life. Perez would also be required as a sex offender under Megan’s Law restraints, and a Nicole’s Law Restraining Order.
The Crimes Occurred Between 2013 And 2015
   The crimes occurred in a North Bergen, New Jersey, home on various dates between 2013 and 2015, when the young girl was under the age of 10 years old.   Â
