BRIDGEPORT, CT.- Three Waterbury, Connecticut, men are facing spending the rest of their lives in federal prison after being charged in a federal indictment in connection with a violent crime spree for allegedly committing an armed carjacking, robbery, and shooting a Waterbury Police Department Detective that occurred earlier this year in Waterbury, Connecticut.
According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, a Federal Grand Jury for the District of Connecticut, returned a seven-count indictment charging Arian Perez-Feliciano, also known as “A,” 21, Alberto Rodriguez, also known as “NeNe,” 19, and Sydney Reid, also known as “Syd,” 18 all of Waterbury, Connecticut for offenses related to their roles in a robbery, carjacking, attempted carjacking, and the shooting of a Waterbury Police Detective in February 2025.
All three men have remained in custody since their arrests on Connecticut State-related charges on February 13, 2025.
Charging Information In The Indictment Alleges
The indictment alleges that Perez-Feliciano, Rodriguez, and Reid conspired to steal firearms and marijuana, and to commit carjackings using stolen vehicles. On January 13, 2025, Rodriguez and Reid, each of whom pointed a loaded firearm at a victim’s face, stole a shotgun, illicit narcotics, cash, and various other items from the victim.
The indictment further alleges that on February 13, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m., Perez-Feliciano, Rodriguez, and Reid attempted to commit an armed carjacking on Waterville Street in Waterbury, Connecticut. A short time later, the trio committed an armed carjacking on Chase Avenue in Waterbury. As they fled from responding law enforcement, Perez-Feliciano opened fire on a pursuing Waterbury Police Detective in an attempt to kill him, striking the Detective in the thigh.
The charges unsealed in the indictment charge each Perez-Feliciano, Rodriguez, and Reid with Conspiracy; Conspiracy to Interfere with Commerce by Robbery; Interference with Commerce by Robbery; Carrying, Using, and Brandishing a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence; Attempted Carjacking; Carjacking; and Carrying, Using, Brandishing, and Discharging a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence.
All Three Men Face Up To Life In Prison, If Convicted
If convicted at trial on all of the charges, all three men face a mandatory minimum of 17 years and up to life in federal prison, a term of supervised release, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. At sentencing, upon a finding of guilt, a U.S. District Court Judge would determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offenses and the three men’s prior criminal history.

“The rules of the federal court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
