The charges stem from an incident that unfolded on Thursday, August 7, 2025, when, shortly after 1:30 p.m., members of the Point Pleasant Borough Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an armed home invasion at a Barton Avenue home in the Borough.
Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered that the rear door of the home had been forced open and that the residence had been burglarized. During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and the Point Pleasant Borough Police Department determined that a man, identified as Wilson, who possessed a handgun, and a woman, identified as Brown, kicked open the rear door of the home while the occupant was present in the home.
Wilson then fired the handgun, and then the pair burglarized the home, taking personal property belonging to the occupant. Following burglarizing the home, Wilson and Brown fled the property. Detectives were able to identify both Wilson and Brown as the suspects.
During the evening hours of Thursday, at around 11:00 p.m., Detectives of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office located Wilson and Brown in Toms River, New Jersey. The pair were taken into custody, processed on the charges, and remanded to the Ocean County Jail pending future court proceedings in Ocean County Superior Court. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to detain Wilson and Brown pending trial.Â
