Harrison County Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Fentanyl Charge

CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- A 40-year-old Clarksburg, West Virginia, man and local drug dealer will be facing up to 20 years in federal prison when sentenced later this year, after pleading guilty last Thursday, to a federal drug offense.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, Chad Williams Mullooly, 40, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi to a federal information charging him with Distribution of a Controlled Substance, p-Fluorofentanyl.
Mullooly Is Facing Up To 20 Years In Federal Prison
Following entering his guilty plea, Judge Aloi accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for a time and a date to be determined by the District Court. At sentencing, Mullooly faces a mandatory minimum of ten years and up to 20 years in federal prison, at least four years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $5 million. At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Mullooly’s prior criminal history.
According To Court Documents
According to charging information filed with the District Court, during a narcotics investigation into the distribution of illicit narcotics in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and elsewhere in Harrison County, West Virginia, Mullooly sold fentanyl and p-Fluorofentanyl to a confidential informant on multiple occasions during controlled buys, under the observation of law enforcement investigators.
Acting U.S. Attorney Bernard commended the investigative work of the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force for the arrest and Mullooly’s guilty plea on Thursday.
