Bergen County Man Charged With Production Of Child Porn & Invasion Of Privacy

RAMSEY, NJ.- On Wednesday, following an investigation, a 25-year-old Oakland, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with allegedly producing child pornography by hiding a camera inside the women’s restroom at Martial Arts Center in Ramsey, New Jersey.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, in April 2025, members of the Ramsey Police Department responded to Tiger Schulman’s Martial Arts, located on Route 17 South in Ramsey, New Jersey, after a hidden camera had been found inside a publicly accessible restroom of the business. An investigation by Detectives of the Ramsey Police Department determined that Ryan J. Curtin, 25, of Oakland, New Jersey, an employee of the business, had placed the camera in the restroom and recorded at least one adult patron.

     Subsequently, following the investigation by the Ramsey Police Department, Curtin was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree Invasion of Privacy. He was processed on the charge and released pending further court actions.

     After charging Curtin, the Ramsey Police Department notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit of the incident. Detectives from both the Cyber Crimes Unit and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Digital Forensic Lab continued the investigation into the hidden camera incident.

Further Investigation Uncovered More Crimes

     Further investigation additionally uncovered that Curtin placed the hidden camera in the women’s restroom and recorded multiple victims, including children, undressing and dressing inside the restroom at the business.

On Wednesday, Curtin Was Additionally Charged And Jailed

     Accordingly, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Curtin was additionally charged by Detectives with two counts of second-degree Production of Child Pornography; one count of third-degree Possession of Child Pornography; and seven counts of third-degree Invasion of Privacy. He was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey. 

     Following being processed on the charges, Cutin was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
