Atlantic City Man Pleads Guilty To 2022 Harrah’s Casino Nightclub Stabbing

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- A 27-year-old Atlantic City, New Jersey, man, currently lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, will be facing over seven years in New Jersey State Prison, when sentenced later this year after pleading guilty on Monday to assault and a weapons charge in connection with the November 2022 stabbing inside a nightclub at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino in Atlantic Cxity, New Jersey.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Monday, August 11, 2025, Dante Braxton, 27, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty to second-degree Aggravated Assault; and third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
In Return For The Guilty Plea, Braxton Faces Over Seven Years
In return for the guilty plea, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Braxton be sentenced to seven and one-half years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, which will require Braxton to serve 85% of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole. Additionally, under the terms of the plea agreement, Braxton will be required to serve three years of intensive parole supervision upon completion of the term of imprisonment.
According to charging documents and statements made during Monday’s plea hearing, during the evening hours of November 22, 2022, members of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to 911 Emergency Calls reporting a large fight inside a nightclub at Harrah’s Casino. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man who had been stabbed in the elbow and abdomen.
Detectives Were Able To Identify Braxton As The Suspect
Through Casiso video surveillance footage and cellular phone video taken by witnesses, Police Officers and Detectives were able to identify Braxton as the individual who stabbed the man multiple times during a fight inside the lounge. After stabbing the man, Braxton followed the man and threw a metal chair at him outside the Casino. Further review of surveillance footage showed that Braxton went through a metal detector before entering the club. Although the metal detector activated when Braxton went through it, security failed to search him.
During his plea allocution on Monday, Braxton admitted to the court that he stabbed the man on the evening of November 22, 2022. Additionally, on Monday, Braxton pleaded guilty to unrelated indictments charging Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Obstruction, and Violation of a Drug Restraining Order. In return for those guilty pleas, the Atlantic City Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Braxton be sentenced concurrently to the seven and one-half years for the assault and weapons sentence.
   After entering his guilty pleas, the court accepted the pleas and scheduled the sentencing for October 2025. Braxton will remain incarcerated in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, pending sentencing.
