BOSTON, MA.- A 45-year-old El Salvadoran national with an extensive criminal history is currently awaiting deportation after being sentenced on Tuesday to unlawfully being in the United States by a deported alien.

According to U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Arsenio Valladares, 45, of El Salvador, illegally residing in Massachusetts, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Julia E. Kobick to time served, five months, to be followed by one year of supervised release after pleading guilty to Illegal Reentry into the United States by a Deported Alien.

After handing down the sentence on Tuesday, Judge Kobick ordered Valladares to be remanded to the custody of Federal Immigration authorities to face immediate deportation proceedings and be removed from the United States.

Valladares previously appeared in July 2025, in Federal Court in Boston, Massachusetts, and pleaded to an April 2025 indictment charging one count of Illegal Reentry into the United States by a Deported Alien.

According To Court Documents

According to documents filed with the District Court, Valladares had previously been deported from the United States on or about April 23, 2008. Sometime after his removal, Valladares, on an unknown date and at an unknown location, illegally reentered the United States without permission or legal authorization to do so. Prior to his removal, Valladares was convicted of offenses including assault and battery with a deadly weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery, operating under the influence, and malicious destruction of property.

In November 2024, Federal Immigration Officials became aware of Valladares’s unlawful presence in the United States after his fingerprints were taken during processing on Massachusetts state criminal charges. On March 18, 2025, Valladares was taken into custody by Federal Immigration authorities.
