Guatemalan Domestic Abuser Sentenced For Illegal Reentry Into The U.S.

PITTSBURGH, PA.- On Wednesday, a 43-year-old Guatemalan man, and accused domestic abuser, illegally residing in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, was sentenced to 60 days in federal prison for unlawfully being present in the United States after having been deported on four separate occasions.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Domingo Gonzales Perez, 43, of Gualemala, and currently in federal custody, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan to 60 days in federal prison, after pleading guilty to Illegal Reentry into the United States by a Deported Alien.
According To Charging Documents Filed With The District Court
According to charging documents filed with the District Court, Gonzalez Perez was found to be illegally present in the United States on four separate occasions. Sometime after his last removal, at an unknown date and an unknown location, Gonzalez Perez reentered the United States without permission or legal authorization to do so after being found legally in the Western District of Pennsylvania on October 9, 2024.
On October 9, 2024, Gonzalez Perez was arrested by local law enforcement on a charge of domestic assault. In April 2025, while his domestic case was pending in Pennsylvania State Court, and with an active federal arrest warrant, Gonzalez Perez was taken into custody by members of the Pennsylvania State Police in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, on charges of driving under the influence and evading arrest.
Gonzalez Perez has been in federal custody since his April arrest and will be returned to U.S. Immigration officials for removal from the United States following the completion of his federal prison sentence.
   Acting U.S. Attorney Rivetti commended the investigative work of the Pennsylvania State Police, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, which led to the successful apprehension and prosecution of Gonzalez Perez.Â
