Police Charge Man In June 2025 Snatch & Grab Robbery In Northwest D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Saturday, a 61-year-old Northwest, D.C., man was taken into custody and charged in connection with an alleged snatch-and-grab robbery that occurred in the evening hours of Thursday, June 12, 2025, on a Northwest, D.C. street.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, shortly after 9:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District responded to a report of a robbery on the 900 Block of Massachusetts Avenue in Northwest, D.C.

Upon Arrival, Police Officers Learn The Suspect Grabbed Property And Ran

     Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that while the victim was on Massachusetts Avenue, he was approached by a suspect who quickly snatched the victim’s property and fled the scene.

     During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District were able to develop information that led to the suspect being identified as Ronnie Bryant, 61, of Northwest, D.C., and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

     On Saturday, August 23, 2025, Bryant was located and taken into custody, and he was formally charged pursuant to the DC Superior Court warrant with one count of Robbery, specifically “Snatch and Grab.” Bryant was processed on the charge pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.


“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
